The Bracara Cup is much more than a football tournament; therefore, this year’s edition was kick-ed off in style.
The participating teams gathered in the city centre to take part in a parade towards the opening ceremony to celebrate the launch of Bracara Cup 22, and were accompanied by roman soldiers, who carried with them the essence and image of the tournament. The opening ceremony began with a performance by a local group of drummers, who played to welcome our participants to Braga, and to Portugal. The master of ceremonies welcomed each individually. After the ceremony, the teams enjoyed a welcome dinner at Restaurante Agostinho na Estação, in Braga, to socialize, and relax before the start of the competition.
During the tournament the teams also enjoyed a visit to the The Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, one of the most iconic places in the city of Braga.
On the final day of the tournament, the teams attended a farewell dinner where they enjoyed meals from local food trucks, and celebration accompanied by a DJ. The closing ceremony began with a congratulatory message to all teams from the master of ceremonies. Then, the trophies and medals were handed out to the winning teams and finally, to close the ceremony, each team hosts shared a beautiful, and personalised message to their respective teams.
It was an exceptional journey!
